In our journey to alleviate educational disparities and enhance future prospects for rural youth in Lao PDR, the LaunchPad initiative has enabled numerous students to transcend geographical and socio-economic barriers, paving the way to their dreams. Here are three inspiring stories of determination, transformation, and hope sparked by the generosity of donors through our crowdfunding platform.
Background: Somphone grew up in a small village in the Sekong province where access to even basic healthcare was a challenge. Inspired by the few healthcare workers he met during his childhood, Somphone dreamed of becoming a doctor, a goal that seemed unattainable given his family's financial constraints.
How LaunchPad Helped: Through funds raised via our crowdfunding platform, Somphone received a full scholarship covering his tuition, accommodation, and living expenses, enabling him to attend a reputable high school in Vientiane and later secure a place at the University of Health Sciences.
Impact: Now in his second year of medical school, Somphone is excelling academically and is actively involved in community health programs. He aims to return to his province to improve healthcare availability and quality.

Background: Raised in a family of farmers in the Vientiane Province, Malichanh witnessed the impacts of unsustainable agricultural practices first-hand. This ignited her passion for pursuing a career where she could make a real difference in protecting and managing natural resources.
How LaunchPad Helped: Donations facilitated Malichanh's move to the city for better schooling. Funding covered her educational and living costs, allowing her to focus on her studies without financial worry.
Impact: Malichanh is now studying Environmental Science at the National University of Laos. She participates in various eco-conservation projects and volunteers for green initiatives, hoping to influence sustainable farming practices in her community.
